Start Foundation

The START-Stiftung gGmbH is a high-profile provider of opportunities for talented young people in Germany. It awards scholarships with a focus on skills transfer, coaching and financial support to young people with an immigration background who want to take responsibility for themselves and others. In this way, they support young people who are actively committed to our society and democracy and help shape it: Talents become doers!

The START student scholarship program, which was started in 2002 by the non-profit Hertie Foundation in Hesse, is now offered throughout Germany. Since 2007, the START-Stiftung gGmbH has been running the program as a subsidiary of the Hertie Foundation. More than 120 partners are also involved - ministries, foundations, municipalities, companies, service clubs and associations, and private individuals.V
